Gramercy, Louisiana
Gramercy is a town in St. James Parish, Louisiana, and is located within easy travel distance of both New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The population was 3,066 at the 2000 census.

New Orleans
New Orleans is located in southeastern Louisiana, straddling the Mississippi River.  It is coextensive with Orleans Parish, meaning that the boundaries of the city and the parish are the same.  It is bounded by the parishes of St. Tammany (north), St. Bernard (east), Plaquemines (south), and Jefferson (south and west).  Lake Pontchartrain, part of which is included in the city limits, lies to the north, and Lake Borgne lies to the east.

The city is named after Philippe II, Duc d'Orléans, Regent of France, and is one of the oldest cities in the United States.  It is well known for its multicultural heritage, cuisine, architecture, music (particularly as the birthplace of jazz), and its annual Mardi Gras and other celebrations and festivals.

Baton Rouge
Baton Rouge is the capital city of the U.S. state of Louisiana.  It is located in East Baton Rouge Parish.  It is located in the southeast portion of the state along the Mississippi River.

Baton Rouge owes its location and its historical importance to its site upon Istrouma Bluff, the first bluff upriver from the Mississippi delta, which protects the city’s residents from flooding and other natural disasters.  In addition to the natural protection, the city sports a levee system stretching from the bluff southward to protect the riverfront and the southern agricultural areas.

Baton Rouge is a major industrial, petrochemical, and port center of the American South. The Port of Baton Rouge is the ninth largest in the United States in terms of weight.
